So Thursday night the bathroom pipes decided to burst under the house, thankfully I was in the bathroom at the time, the plumber came capped off the pipes and came back on friday morning after 4 hours of working on the pipes to the tune of $900.00 he finished with them. Some D U M B – - – T!! and yes I mean that used pipes that go under the sink for under the house, now how that got past my home inspection last year I’d really like to know since it is NOT up to code. I don’t understand how those flexible plastic pipes did not burst last year since we did freeze, he also told me we would have to replace all the plumbing because again whoever did it had absolutely no clue what they were doing, so now we are saving to have all our plumbing redone which he guesstimates at about $3,200.00. Ahh the joys of home ownership

Vacation

Well only two more days of work then we are off on vacation for 2 and half weeks!! We are so excited, even my DH told me yesterday how he was actually looking forward to this vacation even though we are driving which he doesn’t like to do, thankfully I enjoy driving and don’t mind doing it. We hope to leave by 6am on Sunday and plan a long leisurely drive to enjoy the scenery . Today we finish off the 100 things that need to be done before we leave including packing our cargo carrier and we have a lunch were we work for all employee’s today so we plan to hit that up also, my DS-Y has soccer practice today and we will have to tell the coach he will be gone for the next few practices, we just found out about this last night and we didn’t know they planned to start practice so early in the summer, since last time they didn’t start until September when school started but we lived in a different town then also. So If we don’t chat again for a while wish us luck and fun and hopefully everyone else has a great rest of the summer also!!

Vacation

We will be leaving for vacation in 5 days we are all so excited, we plan a long slow drive and will be camping along the way. We plan on stopping at Arch National Park, the Grand Canyon, and Albuquerque NM I sure hope the weather is nicer then it has been the last few days here

I also ordered my DH’s college books on Textbooks.com and paid for second day shipping as he wants to read the first few chapters before his class starts next month.

Lack of Posts & Vacation

Sorry for the lack of posts but I’m working a lot and trying to get ready for vacation that starts in only 6 days! So at the moment I’m rather busy I’ll try to post more during or after we get back from vacation it honestly just depends on how much fun we have……

Today I woke up in pain

Today I woke up unable to put pressure on my left heel, I have Plantar Fascitiis and today it decided to act up, why it couldn’t wait until vacation starts in 2 weeks I guess only god will know. I’m going to try to muddle thru work, I’ll wear my keen sandals they help a lot, I do have orthotics but I haven’t gotten them in a new pair of shoes yet and really don’t want to put them in an old pair of shoes. I had bought some dr. scholl’s hard insoles almost like my orthotic’s for my old shoes and they had been working fine, but wow nothing like feeling like someone is sticking needles in your heel to make you realise how much you treasure walking with no pain.

As for work I work 4 days then I’m off 4 so I hope I can make it thru the 4 days.

Today I have to work but I’m off tomorrow and it’s for a great cause my oldest son’s GF’s baby shower I can’t wait, I’m very excited! The sweet little boy is not due until September but I’m starting to get very very anxious for him to be here. I just want today over with so I can enjoy tomorrow even though the weather is not supposed to be as nice as it has been. I do work a lot next week, as in Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and yes all of those are 12 hour shifts but I may not work Thursday it just depends, and since vacation is getting closer and closer I’m sure I can live with working 4 days in a row knowing I get to leave for vacation soon enough….

Well I’ve done it, I told them I’d work half a day on friday also, I told DH I’ll be dead from OT by the time I get to vacation time but we need the extra right now so I’m going to do as much as I can while I can. I’m going to cancel one of my appointments since I haven’t had any problems and can always remake it if I do that takes one day out of my schedule at least and DH has 8 days off starting next week he told me he would help with what he could as long as I made him a list.

Day Off

So today I have exactly one day off before I go back to work so I have a lot of stuff to get done. I’m having the yard done today, the house cleaned tomorrow while I’m at work, I need to partially pack personal stuff for our trip next month, make a list of clothes we want to take with us, and pack our cargo carrier, go to the eye doctor and the grocery store. I sure hope I have time to do it all! I’m still tired from working an extra day yesterday and still have 9 days of regular work and 2 overtime days, and 2 doctor appointments for 2 of our kids and whatever else I’m not remembering to do within the next 19 days before we leave. OH Yes how about Pack? Bathe 2 dogs, make sure the cat has enough food so my Mom can feed him while we are gone, make sure the hose is close to the garden so she can water the garden while we are gone, I have already told her to take whatever is ripe so it doesn’t spoil.

I think I’m going to need a vacation for our vacation when I’m done

Tomorrow

Well I’m scheduled to work an OT day tomorrow which will be good since we got some of my DS’s bills from his broken arm to the tune of $613 and $259 so far, I’m sure more will be coming and yes, this is our part to pay, my insurance has already paid their portion. I also paid for MIL and DS to fly back from Texas when we drive down there next month since we don’t want her to have to drive back with us that distance and unfortunately he will miss his first day of school but I’m not too worried about that, hopefully the school won’t either. I’m rather cheap and since it was either $109 or $89 on the 7th we voted to miss the first day of school. I have 10 more days of regular work left before our vacation begins I honestly am counting the days!! (Oh, I think I might have signed up for OT some of the days I have off so I guess those count also.)

And SUN blessed SUN finally for more than 1 day at a time

So HR calls and she doesn’t understand what the deal is because she didn’t even know that our bonuses had gone thru and was surprised they had, so she will be looking into it and will get back to me on monday which is fine and I told her they could just put it on my next paycheck if they wanted but I know I have been there 20 years and that I had the pin to prove it
